FOREST INDUSTRY - MARKET UPDATE
Speaker: Truls Langaard, Global Head of Forest Industries in DNB Bank ASA
Truls has for more than 25 years’ experience within corporate banking and has since 2005 been responsible for the Forest Industries in DNB. He was Global Head of Manufacturing Industries also covering other manufacturing sectors from 2010-2019. Truls has real passion for the Forest sectors, and he has since late 90’s been actively advising Forest clients, in all steps of the forest sectors value chain, both within corporate banking and corporate finance.
Speaker: Per-Ove Nordström, Principal at AFRY Management Consulting
Per-Ove has worked with the forest products industry more than 30 years, including 25 years of management consulting experience and before that 13 years of experience from stock market analysis and corporate finance assignments. He has long and significant experience from strategy and corporate finance assignments related to industry structure and market development issues. He has advised clients globally in all steps of the forest products value chain. He has also worked extensively with investors and asset owners in the forest products industry.
Speaker: Måns Johansson, CEO of Vida and president of Canfor Europe
Måns Johansson has more than 20 years’ experience in the forestry industry, he is leading Sweden’s largest sawmill group with 1.600 employees in twenty-four productions plants, including twelve sawmills. The group acquires a total of 6,4 million m3 (sub) annually, and the production is mainly focused on structural timber for a variety of global markets. 88% of Vida’s sawn wood products are exported to Europe, USA, Australia, Africa and Asia. Their manufacturing business also includes packaging, animal bedding, pellet, biofuel and houses.
Vida has high ambitions for the future. They have done large investments over the last years, in line with their vision “To Grow”.
